Open Pores

What are Open Pores?

Hair Pores are home to hair follicles and are connected to sebaceous glands that supply the oil sebum to your skin. These Pores are always open to allow hairs and skin oil access to the skin's surface. These Pores cover the entire body except for the soles of the feet and the palms of your hands.

Open pores are large visible pores on the skin surface. They are typically more visible on the face and nose.
Pores can become clogged and stretched, appearing larger. They can also become more visible as we get older. Our production of collagen and elastin fibres decreases with age. As these fibres reduce and become weaker, our skin loses its tightness and begins to sag. This leads to large pores on the face as the elastic properties of the skin decline.
