Morpheus8 vs RF Microneedling

What are RF Microneedling and Morpheus8?

There are so many aesthetic treatments available that it can be confusing which treatment to choose. Selecting the right treatment for you is key to getting the best results. Let’s talk about the two most popular non-surgical skin treatments, RF Microneedling and Morpheus8.

RF Microneedling and Morheus8 are skin-strengthening treatments to improve uneven skin texture, such as fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, and stretch marks. Both treatments use Radiofrequency energy & Needles to stimulate collagen production by triggering the body’s natural healing mechanism.

What is the difference?

  1. Type of Needles

Focus dual RF Microneedling

  • Insulated and Non-Instated Needles
  • 2 sizes of needle diameter - 0.16mm & 0.25mm

Morpheus8

  • Insulated Needles only.
  • Needle diameter is thicker than Focus Dual RF Microneedling
  1. Pain

Focus dual RF Microneedling

  • A local anaesthetic is not necessary as needles are finer and more tolerable.

Morpheus8

  • Due to thicker needles, you may feel more discomfort. A local anaesthetic can be used to manage the pain before the treatment.
  1. Downtime

Focus dual RF Microneedling

  • Redness & swelling usually calm down after 2-3 hours.

Morpheus8

  • Redness & swelling calms down after 2-3 days.

Who is suitable for Morpheus8?

Morpheus8 can reach up to 7mm depth where body fat is. Radiofrequency energy can melt the fat layer to reduce the volume. If you are looking for a body-tightening treatment that melts fat at the same time, the Morpheus8 is excellent. The depth of treatment means that deep scars can also be treated. In general, most people don’t want to reduce facial fat as this can make you look tired.

Who is suitable for Focus Dual RF Microneedling?

Focus Dual targets the Dermis layer of the skin, where 80-90% of skin collagen resides. Collagen is produced by cells called Fibroblasts, which are found predominantly in the Dermis layer.

If you are looking for less discomfort and downtime and want to improve facial skin texture to target fine lines, wrinkles, and acne scars, the Focus Dual RF Microneedling is excellent.

Which is better?

There is feedback from practitioners who have found that the overall results are very similar. The best way to choose is to consult a qualified practitioner who can assess your individual needs and recommend the best treatment.
