FAQ

Laser Hair Removal

This is a common concern that many clients have before they begin their laser hair removal journey. More traditional laser hair removal methods might have been a tad uncomfortable, but the Motus AY offers our clients a virtually pain-free solution.

Most people are suitable for treatment. Best results are often achieved with people who have fair skin and dark hair. Dark hair is more easily treated as it has a higher concentration of melanin. Fair hair, however, contains less melanin and is harder to treat. Grey/white hair has no melanin so is not suitable for treatment.

Using the Moveo handpiece attached to our Motus AY, we deliver concentrated bursts of laser energy to the hair follicles in the treatment area. The hair follicles which are in their active growth stage absorb this energy as heat which travels down the pigment of the hair to the follicle which is the target. The heat damages the follicle and decreases the follicles ability to grow back. After multiple treatments, some follicles can be rendered dormant.

Traditionally laser hair removal feels like the snap of an elastic band against the skin sounds a little unpleasant.

The Motus AY uses a sapphire cooling tip to soothe the surface of the skin during treatment to help protect against any uncomfortable sensations, burns, and pigmentation changes. The system uses different wavelengths to gradually heat up the skin to a temperature that damages the hair follicles to reduce and eliminate hair regrowth without harming the surrounding tissue.

Motus AY is:

  • Motus AY uses the only technology in the world that allows 755nm Alexandrite laser to be safely applied to all skin types. Darker skins have traditionally been restricted to less effective wavelengths such as Diode or Nd:YAG however now can be treated with Alexandrite – the gold standard laser for hair removal.
  • Motus AY enables faster treatments times through the frequency of the laser and the 20mm large tip size.
  • The Motus AY is safe for all skin types. The utilisation of gradual heating and the contact cooling system integrated into handpiece guarantees maximum patient comfort.
  • PAIN-FREE. Pain-free and truly effective laser hair removal for all skin types.

Only hair that is actively growing is affected, therefore multiple treatments are needed. Treatments conducted every 4-6 weeks, depending on the area treated until a satisfactory result is seen. The required number of treatments varies, but typically minimum of 6 or more treatments are needed for optimum results.

Yes. Laser hair removal is an effective method for people who suffer from ingrown hair. Once the follicle is destroyed, there is no hair to cause ingrown hair.

INTIMATE WAXING

Please shower before your treatment.

Regardless of how you have been removing your hair, you should have at least 4-6 weeks growth to get the best result.

Everyone is different. In most cases, you will see minimal regrowth during the first 2 weeks, with a noticeable increase after that. Continued waxing encourages slower, sparser regrowth but it is not permanent.

If you are serious about maintaining that clean and sexy feeling, you probably need waxing in every 4-6 weeks.

Yes, it does a bit. We won't lie about it but you are in safe hands with Setsuko. She is an experienced wax therapist who is trained by Kim Lawless – the expert in intimate waxing. The treatment is quick and effective.

If you experience any discomfort, it’s really just for a few seconds only. You can help yourself by trimming the hair before your appointment. If you have never been waxed before, just trim what you can (with scissors) to roughly 1cm. If you have been removing the hair yourself, you should wait a few weeks before you are waxed, as you will get a much better result. Shaved hair is much stronger and tougher to remove (and more painful), so step away from the razor.

Not necessarily. As long as you wear Tampax, it is no problem.
